These insignia are ones I have used for Trek gaming Since about 1985... except for the prime directive ones, which I've only used since about 1993. I seem to recall that the M device comes from Dreadnought, but I may be wrong as to which novel.

While all the insignia have been shown on the enterprise arrowhead, until after the Enterprise's 5 year mission, each ship has its own insignia, as does each fleet's bases.

Note also: enlisted ranks in my Trek games use silver in place of the gold shown.
