FUDGE-ing The CORPS of the MT Task System

I've briefly skimmed FUDGE. I like a few of the concepts. But I'm NOT willing to go over to FUDGE-Traveller....

I also like CORPS. But, like so many, CORPS is just not quite doable for me to do Traveller... too much to convert...

So, here's an alternate task system inspired by both...

Assumption #1: You want to use the MT Task labels.

Assumption #2: You have some dF you picked up as a curiosity.

Assumption #3: You want tasks to be assumed successful at certain levels of skill versus complexity.

Since MT uses stat plus skill, or 2 skills, and all are 0+ modifiers, you need to reflect this.

Stat Mods: Use Att/x, where X is GM's choice of 3,4, or 5, based upon his preferences. Round down.

Skills: No skill is 0, but increase difficulty by 1, Otherwise use level.

Task Procedure: Add the two components together. Add the result of 4dF. Compare with the target number for the difficulty. Maximum sum on any task, excluding the dice, is +8.

Rationale: For Joe Normal, doing a two attribute task with att/4 or att/5, base skill is 2. For Att plus skill, assumed is 1+2, or 3.

Target numbers:
  0 Easy
  3 Routine
  6 Difficult
   9 Formidable
12 Nigh Impossible (or tasking, fo T4)
15 Impossible (T4)

Since 4dF Generates +4 through -4, heavily centered around +2 through -2, this means that, outside stressful situations, you can succeed without rolling if you exceed the difficulty before rolling.

Time rolls: Roll (8-asset)dF+(10-asset) for time increments. Much more centralized.
